I'm still amazed at the level of interest people outside Israel show in our music.
LOL! Well, you know I really like Daklon, and I think I came across this song on a list for Israeli folk dancers ("rikudei am"). I don't dance myself, but I check in every now and then because they often mention good Israeli songs which have been choreographed as Israeli "folk dances". Anyway, when I heard this song, the rhytm reminded me so much of the Pontic songs I've heard at family gatherings and weddings (my "hubby" is Pontic Greek). I'm not a 100% sure, but I think the particular rhytm/dance is called "omal" and it's an easy dance-even I can dance it!

And more spontaneous dancing from a family occasion:

Anyway, I sent the Ehud Banai clip to a Greek cyberfriend who is very knowledgeable and he gave me the name of the song that Kazantzidis (who is also Black Sea Greek) recorded with the iconic Pontic singer Chrysanthos. This is all O.T. of course, so please bear with me!
To get back to Israeli music, here is a video with some Asian folk dancers dancing to "Nitzots Ha'ahava". Talk about Pontic-Israeli culture reaching all corners of the world!!!
