A few months ago Claybricks, a member here, was able to ID a 42 year old song I recorded from an underground FM radio station back in 1969. I was amazed since I could barely make out any lyrics and the artist now is virtually unknown... and not even mentioned on the web.
I have five 90min cassettes worth of these damn tapes and I was able to ID most songs so far. But the quality is pretty bad and I can't make out the lyrics even using some audio enhancement programs. So if anyone's up for a challenge…. note all songs should be pre-1970
http://chronos-historical.org/songs/03.mp3 an country instrumental.
http://chronos-historical.org/songs/04.mp3 a brief vocal segment after a long guitar solo. The male voice sounds so familiar... but I can't place it.
#4 SOLVED!!!! Vacation by John Mayall on Laural Canyon Blues!!!
http://chronos-historical.org/songs/05.mp3 a brief segment of an ad followed by a song that reminds me of Traffic but I can't find it on their first 3 albums. There's what appears to be a sax... so who else had sax players in those days? Sons of Champlin?
http://chronos-historical.org/songs/06.mp3 perhaps Dr John the Night Tripper but who knows. Has sort of a voodoo drone quality.
Thanks for giving these clips a listen! Don't worry… there's more!! LOL
