Samo sam primetila neke greščice, pa nije loše da ih spomenem. Nisam ni ja neki ekspert, al' ajde.

grešna - sinful, wicked (iniquitous, peccant, peccable, unrighteous, ungodly...)
koliko sam grešna - how sinful am I

that you break my heart -> to break my heart

not mine nor others -> nor mine nor others

Nemam kome -> nemam kome otići - no one to go to (ali može i onako)

koliko te volim- how much I love you
ni slutila nisam- I didn’t even suppose
dok si bio tu- as you were there

~I couldn't even guess how much I love you while you were there (with me)

i ko da me žali -> Who will/could feel pity for me
and as if I complain - kao da se žalim (pod uslovom da se stvarno žali, jer da je hipotetično, bilo bi as if I comlained)

što sam još na dnu - that I am still on the ground -> ~ because I'm still at the bottom of my life (na primer)

Actually I think the way you first translated this line is better:

Here she is saying exactly as you said "that you break my heart". She's saying she deserved to have her heart broken. It doesn't really work to say "I deserved to break my heart" (most naturally to me would be "I deserved for you to break my heart" but same meaning.)

Also, this sounds better in English I think to say "not mine nor others" rather than "nor mine nor others" so again I would prefer your original translation.

Besides what Ina said already, the only other line that might be improved would be "za vazduh se borim" which I think works better as "I struggle/fight for air" (not so different from what you said, of course).

But these are just my opinions.

... actually I wanted to say " I struggle for air" but then I found on dict.leo.org that "to pant for air" a common collocation is, that's why.

Nonetheless it's quite hard choosing the best words when translating :S

It's not about do we prefer it or not, "nor... nor" is grammatically correct.

There's very formal "not... nor" (in rapports), as I understood, and nor..nor.. is often found in songs and poems. But sometimes both could be found:

Ali postoji blaga razlika imeđu ova dva:

ni ti ni ja - nor you nor me
Not a flower nor a tree grew here. Niti drvo niti cvet je raslo ovde.


I prefer "to pant for air", it's also a quite common expression.

Honestly İna, living now in an English speaking country, İ haven't heard this "nor...nor..." construction in quite the way you used it, not in regular speech. But okay, İ'm sure you're right.

Thank you all for the translation! and @partizanka, even though I'm only learning serbian, maybe "ni ti ni ja" would be best translated as "neither you or I" or "neither you nor I"
