    Aawww you are so nice!! No this is all new to me but I haven't read the whole 43 pages yet For sure I'd like to learn about the different tenses and about new expressions, but I don't mean to make you repeat what you have maybe already said before ^^ Oh so you're in vacations or so? Bahale!

    Also, what is the difference between "che/cheghad /cheghadr"?

    "Che havaye sardi!" goes perfectly with today ^^

    I hope you will always feel this when you look at your husband. I hope he will treat you like the diamond that you are and never ever make you cry. I miss you! I hope to see you soon!

    Is this correct? Could you please complete the parts i didnt know? Thank you!!

    Oh don't worry about meI haven't explained different tenses in this thread yet and I realized that there is no place for learning Farsi grammar with details so I think that can help u a lotWell, yeah ,sort of!! I had a my big exam today and now there is no more exam...so it's time to do my favorite things

    ***For example when you wanna say "how" is sentences like "how beautiful!how wonderful,etc" you have to use "che"."چه"...or also "cheghad""چقد"
    How cool=Che/cheghad bahal
    How nice=Che /cheghad khoob
    How beautiful=Che/cheghad ghashang(informal)/ziba(=formal)

    actually "cheghad" is the short form of "cheghadr چقدر", when you speak you don't pronounce "r" which is in the end..but if you wanna use the word in writing you have to use the complete word "cheghadr"...

    Oh, Inja ham hava sarde...(oh, here is cold,too)

    Salaaam!

    How about some conjugation? I have many many questions as I'm starting from almost nothing ^^
    But first I'd like to know: how many tenses is there in Farsi? Are there two present tenses like in English or just one like in French? How do you conjugate a verb in present tense when you have its infinitive form? And could I have a list of a few infinitives in Farsi, like to be, to have, to see, to go, to say, to write, to read, to listen, to sleep, to eat, to work, to play... ?

    Mamnoon!

    Well, first of all Salam dooste azizamChetori?
    In Farsi we have "simple present/simple past/present continuous/past continuous/future/and so on....I start with the easiest one which is "simple present"

    How to recognize infinitive?
    look at these words :
    to be=Boodan>>>بودن

    to have=Dashtan>>>داشتن

    to see=Didan>>>دیدن

    to go=Raftan>>>رفتن

    to say=Goftan>>>گفتن

    to write=Neveshtan>>>نوشتن

    to read=Khandan>>>خواندن

    to listen=Goosh dadan/Goosh kardan>>>گوش دادن/گوش کردن

    to sleep=Khabidan>>>خوابیدن

    to eat =Khordan>>>خوردن

    to work=Kar kardan>>>کار کردن

    to play=Bazi kardan>>>بازی کردن

    to cook= Pokhtan>>>پختن

    to drink=Nooshidan/Khordan>>>نوشیدن/خوردن

    to speak/to talk/=Harf zadan/ sohbat kardan ***both are the same,there's no difference**>>>>حرف زدن/صحبت کردن

    to watch=didan/tamasha kardan>>>دیدن/تماشا کردن

    to come=Amadan>>>آمدن

    to sing=khandan/avaz khandan>>>خواندن/آواز خواندن

    to wash=Shostan>>>شستن

    to give=Dadan>>>>دادن

    to take=Gereftan/Bordan>>>گرفتن/بردن

    to want=khastan>>>خواستن

    So as you can see all the infinitives have "an" at the endin fact it's a sign that shows you this word is infinitive

    Now for making simple present:

    The formula is :
    Subject+ mi+ present root of the verb+ suffix

    Subject are :

    I=Man>>>من

    You=To>>>تو

    He/She/It=Ou/Oun/An>>>او/اون/آن
    ( "Ou" is used only for persons/"Oun" can be used for both persons and objects/"An"can be used for both persons or objects but it's formal and we don't use it in conversation)

    We=Ma>>>ما

    You(plural)=Shoma>>شما

    They=Anha/Ouna>>>
    آنها/اونا

    Manam khoobam,
    This list will be very usefull to me, kheyli mamnoon azizam! Okay so every infinitives are finished by -an and every words finishing by -an is an infinitive (except "man"? ) That's very clear so far ^^

    Ok we had this formula,right?
    Subject+ mi+ present root of the verb+ suffix

    "mi" is really important, and even in simple past you use it ,too..so keep it in your mind

    Present root of the verb:
    You have to memorise these present roots...there is no easy way,sorry

    See=Bin>>بین

    Go= Ro>>رو

    Say=Gooy>>گوی

    Write=Nevis>>نویس

    Read=Khan>>>خوان

    Wash=Shooy/Shoor>>>شوی/شور

    Come=Ay>>>آی

    Smile=Khand>>>خند

    Take=Gir/Bar>>>گیر>>>بر

    Give=Deh>>>>
    ده

    Manam khoobam,
    Yep that's right

    Now the last part is suffix: for each subject we have a special suffix

    Suffix:
    I (Man)=am

    You(To)=i

    He/she/it(ou/oun)=ad

    We(Ma)=im

    You (Shoma)=id

    They (ouna/Anha)=and

    Now it's time to use the formula and conjugate the verbs

    The verb "To see">>>Simple Present

    Subject+ mi+ present root of the verb+ suffix :

    I see= Man + mi + bin + am>>>>Man mibinam--->من میبینم

    You(singular) see= To + mi + bin + i>>>>To mibini--->تو میبینی

    He/She/It sees=Ou/Oun + mi + bin + an>>> Ou/Oun mibinad--->او/اون میبیند

    We see= Ma + mi + bin + im>>>Ma mibinim--->ما میبینیم

    You(plural) see=Shoma + mi + bin + id>>>Shoma mibinid--->شما میبینید

    They see= Anha/Ouna + mi +bin +and>>>Anha/Ouna mibinand
    --->آنها/اونا میبینند

    ***see, It was not that difficult******

    Another example :

    The verb "To say">>>>Simple Present

    I say= Man + mi + gooy + am>>>Man migooyam--------Man Migam(informal)
    **but let me tell you something, when we speak, we don't say "man migooyam"...instead we simply say "Man migam"...so "man migooyam" is formal and is uses in writing not speaking!!!

    You say= To migooyi-------To migi

    He/she says =Ou migooyad------oun mige

    We say= Ma migooyim-----Ma migim

    You say=Shoma migooyid------Shoma migid/migin

    They say=Anha migooyand--------Ouna migan

    The verb "To give">>>>Simple Present

    I give=Man midaham--------Man midam(Informal)

    You give=To midahi---------To midi

    He/She gives=Ou midahad-------Oun mide

    We give=Ma midahim-----------Ma midim

    You give=Shoma midahid--------Shoma midin

    They give=Anha midahand-------Ouna midan

    Now are you ready for some homework??

    Kheeeeyli mamnoon dooste azizam for this great lesson! It's so easy to learn with your explanations ^^

    Is this correct? (I took the 1st person just for example)

    I go ---- man miroam
    I say ---- man migooyam
    I write ---- man minevisam
    I read --- man mikhanam
    I wash --- man mishooyam/mishooram
    I come ---- man miayam
    I smile (oh yes I do ) ---- man mikhandam
    I take ---- man migiram/mibaram
    I give ---- man mideham

    And as for the other infinitives, I just have to remove the -an and do subject + mi + (infinitive - «an») + suffix?

    I want ---- man mikhastam
    I watch ---- man tamasha mikardam
    I speak ---- man harf mizadam
