Found this, that I wrote one "fuzzy" night a while back. Didn't really tweak it or anything, just one for fun.
It was gossip night
and we couldn't stay
The women said leave;
"Go out and play".
I mentioned the bar,
the girls said ok.
They gave us the rules
and we were on our way
At a corner pub
they called "Tasters Treat"
the place was hoppin
but we found a seat.
The music was loud
but we didn't care
It was guys night out
and man that was rare
(Pre- Chorus)
But I barely had my beer in hand
when the flirters swarmed on in___
(Chorus)
And I was
Swattin at barflys circling me
they were buzzin around gettn drinks for free
They were relentless; wouldn't let me be____
Yea, I was swattin at barflys circling me
It was quite a chore
not to give on in
Sexy young women
verses middle age men
What harm could there be
in buying one shot?
The harm was at home
and that meant a lot
We wore wedding rings
but they didn't care
They just kept comin
right out of thin air
Started to worry
that the wives may show
Innocent are not
we were guilty though
(Pre-Chorus)
With all those women surrounding us
we would die without a trial___
(Chorus)
So I was
Swattin at barflys circling me
they were buzzin around gettn drinks for free
They were relentless; wouldn't let me be____
Yea, I was swattin at barflys circling me
(Bridge)
We only had a couple beers
and decided to hit the door
That bar would bring us trouble
If we kept drinking anymore
Yea I was
Swattin at barflys circling me
they were buzzin around gettn drinks for free
They were relentless; wouldn't let me be____
Yea, I was swattin at barflys circling me

Swattin At Barflys

Lookin' I like your style, but I noticed that a lot of your songs take place at bars.Nothing wrong with that, just move it into the bedroom for once!Update:I might add, that the fact that I Remembered your songs,in the first place,is saying a lot!I read all the songs/poems and remembering your stories is something I'd be proud of!I also recall you reposting a Song Lyric, months later, and I remembered,"I had read it somewhere before"!The fact that I read 100's of poems/songs and recalled yours is something!

lol...Thanks Doug. Funny thing is, I don't go to bars...well at least anymore. Quit going about 10 years ago. (Well once a year if that) I guess I draw inspiration from the 7 years I bar tended in the late 80's early 90's. As for the bedroom, I may clean out the cobwebs and give it a go...lol

Now I start counting,lol
: If you visited bars 20 years ago, mentioning the all-around-present-problem-of young-girls-old-guys: you must
be 85 by now, lolI am proud of you! So you decided to quit, being harassed by Beauty Contest Girls, lol Gr8

lol..Oh, I saw all kinds of things when I bartended...Younger women like hittin on the middle age men with money, as well as the bartenders that make their drinks. My waitresses said the middle age men were the best tippers too!....85!!!!.......I'm not quite 50 and you have me wearing "Depends" already!!!!...lol
