We couldn't go to Croatia for some time because of the war.. and Montenegro .. like I said - no reason to go there when we can go elsewhere lol

Probably because they recorded a few CDs with City Records nowadays click

And they are actually a Yugoslavian band which was created 30 years ago! - represented us on Eurovision in 1988 with the song Mangup

well I thought theyr Serbians cuz Planeta had contracts with Serbian companies to promote their albums here. But no matter, they seem to have good music
And I didn't suppose Jugoslavia was on esc in 1988... I thought the socialistic countries were very isolated from the west in that time.At least my mother told me that.

well, jugoslavija wasn't like the other socialistic countries, we were not part of the eastern-block and could travel around freely.
btw. jugoslavija even won the eurovision in 1989.

Tedinky! Your brother has no idea!
Yugoslavia was one of the founders of United Nations! Everybody loved us back then and we were far from isolated! Sh*t started when the country split at the beginning of '90s ...

Yugoslavia was at Eurovision since 1961 till 1991 - click

Croatia showed up at the contest separately again in 1993, Bosnia as well, Serbia & Montenegro participated in 1992, then returned in 2004.. We didn't go to ESC in 2006 because of stupid dispute with Montenegrin judges.. and then, in 2007 Serbia returned, without Montenegro, and WON
    ( Read this )

And yep Yugoslavia won ESC with Croatian band Riva in '89

I am sooo moving this out of this thread lol

I'm sorry I don't have a brother... it was my mother that told me well she didn't tell me exactly bout Yugoslavia but bout the socialistic countries as a whole. As far as I know Bulgaria was from the very isolated countries under the great inluence of the ex-Soviets.
But cuz I had to study much history in my last two years I remember Tito and Stalin had some conflict and Yugoslavia was separated from the Soviets (and as well from Bulgaria).
    Very sorry bout the off-topic!

I was sure you said brother but then again. .. I was reading your post in the same time when I was explaining "blood brother" ..
And.. I am sure that, same as me, ATL can not wait that I finallyyyyyyyy leave to my hols and leave the poor place alone LOL

every political topic is off topic on this forum if you ask me but don't apologize to me - I do it as well lol
One of the things I believe in - there is no such thing as history when it comes to these regions.. there are histories and I gave up long ago trying to figure out which is true and which is not.. Because.. we were taught one thing in school and then a boom happened.. so.. lets talk about Srebrna Krila

Just to mention: I strive to stay away from politics and historic discussions too.No point in such things - history is history, we should live for the future. I hope someday that will happen with Macedonia.
Yep talking bout music is much more pleasant But I'm sorry I'm not too into Srebrna krila look,if we talk bout Funky G I'm really into...these days I'm listening to all their albums from 1994 till now But well I leave ya to talk bout Srebrna krila... maybe sb here is fan of them too

Morton Benson is a great Serbo-Croatian <-> English Dictionary on 2 CDs.. with audio pronunciation ..
There are some mistakes in it but still..
You can maybe find a DL somewhere but they are mostly simplified versions.. It used to be totally annoying for me because I had to insert one of the CDs every time I wanted to use it but then I installed it on a virtual drive and it works like any other program now

Don't tell me you haven't heard for Morton Benson's dictionary! But advance learners use eng-eng, usually Oxford, on CD.

By the way, we were not part of the Eastern block after 1948 (Tito-Stalin split of 1948), if I am right, YU was part of "nesvrstane zemlje"- non-aligned countries or "zemlje trećeg sveta"- third world countries.

Well I guess I can post anything here, so I'd like to hear your opinions about something. There was this show ''Hrvatska traži zvijezdu'' and two finalists remain, according to me they both have great voices but Bojan won. I want to hear your opinions, who's better, if you're willing to listen ofc

    Zoran:

    Bojan:

they're singing the same song which belongs to winner.
''Glupost je sama u sebe zaljubljena i njeno je samoljublje bezgranično.''

    ''Siamo niente senza fantasie''

''Наверное мне место на луне, но страшно оставаться в темноте''
