Default obscure early 70's progressive rock track

There was a song that was played on Love Stereo when it was an album rock station in Madison, WI in '72 or '73 that I remember but I never knew the artist and title and i haven't heard it since. The lyrics were sung by an Arlo Guthrie sounding artist and what I remember is this:

"Now I don't know where Heaven is boy
But one thing I know for sure
You can make your own Hell on earth boy
    and you are travelin' down
the right road whoa whoa whoa"

Then there was a gospel sounding hammond organ that could have been Billy Preston
and there was a sparse use of horns for two notes very similar to the way The Who use a two horn note blast on the song "5:15"

This has been bothering me for decades and now I'm doing something about it. Please help!
