2 popular songs that I can't figure out.....please help

Neither of these songs are very old and I still here them on the radio. The one song has lyrics that say "why does the world say I never change, when it's the world that always remains the same" something like that. It sound similar to a goo goo dolls song.


The 2nd song says "if I gave it all away for just one thing, wouldn't that be something" this one has to be easy for somebody.
