حروف الجر ومعانيها

حروف الجر في اللغة العربية هي أحد أنواع حروف المعاني العاملة
(أي أنها تغير من إعراب الجملة عند دخولها عليها) المختصة بالأسماء، كبقية حروف العربية،
حروف الجر مبنية دائما أي أن لها حركة واحدة لا تتغير بتغير موقعها من الجملة.
حروف الجر حسب ما ذكر ابن مالك في ألفيته عشرون حرفا مجموعة في البيتين التاليين:

هاك حــروف الجر وهي: من، إلى حتى، خلا، حاشا، عدا، في، عن، على
مذ، منذ، رُب، اللام، كي، واو، وتا والكــاف، والبـــاء، ولعــل، ومـتى

بعض معاني حروف الجر التالي


من: تفيد الإبتداء [According to Getting Started]

الى: نفيد الإنتهاء - انتهاء الغاية [According to finish - the end of the end]

عن: تفيد المجاوزة [According to Overstepping]

على:تفيد الشيء الذي تقع فوق - الاستعلاء [According to the thing which is located above - arrogance]

في:تفيد الشيء الذي يقع في الداخل - الظرفية [According to the thing which is located in the home - situational]

حرف الباء: تفيد الاستعانة [According to the use of]

حرف اللام: تفيد الملكية [According to property]

حرف الكاف: تفيد المشابهة [According to similar]

حروف الجر = prepositions

Prepositions in Arabic are used just like in English; they come before the noun,
Around the house = hawla al bait (around = hawla). In front of the house = amama al bait (amama= in front of).
Some prepositions that are one word in English may contain two words in Arabic, for example (among = men bayn)
which means literally “from between”. And vice versa, some Arabic one word may be the equivalent of a compound
English preposition, like: in front of = fawka
