Anti-Fairytale
Today began with once upon a time,
With me in a lowly state,
Not exactly the village beauty,
Working, singing of her fate,
There was something like a royal ball,
Dreams of music and dance,
I wasn’t invited, I was left alone,
While everybody lived and laughed,
Baby, I’m no princess,
Guess I’m just too coarse,
But you can be my prince,
Riding down on your white horse,
So I’m a tiny bit sarcastic,
A little bit too dark,
My prince said it doesn’t matter,
Because I still stole his heart,
I suppose I caused a paradox,
When I rescued you,
The evil ones can gawp away,
I’m writing this a-new,
Never been content to be,
A damsel in distress,
We slew the dragon together,
We’re both facing each test,
Baby, I’m no princess,
Guess I’m just too coarse,
But you can be my prince,
Riding down on your white horse,
So I’m a tiny bit sarcastic,
A little bit too dark,
My prince said it doesn’t matter,
Because I still stole his heart,
Won’t prick my finger on a spindle,
I’ve no reaction to fruit,
Won’t get locked up in a castle,
Or end up being mute,
Gonna wield my own sword,
Help you with our load,
If it’s our battle to win,
You won’t fight it alone,
Baby, I’m no princess,
Guess I’m just too coarse,
But you can be my prince,
Riding down on your white horse,
So I’m a tiny bit sarcastic,
A little bit too dark,
My prince said it doesn’t matter,
Because I still stole his heart,
"If you were me, then I'd be you, and if I were you, I'd hide somewhere faraway..."
