Default The Man on the Bench

He sits on the bench all alone, thinking of home
And just how long that he's been gone
Pulls out a picture of his baby girl
Thinks back to times when he was a part of her world
But look at him now, his world has come crashing down
Now relieved is King of Crown

So what do you do, when your world is taken from you?
Do you give in or do you just come unglued
Do you get crazy, just f***ing get wild
Do you stand up and shout "Nobody's taking my child!"
Or maybe you think, "Is it better this way?"
Would her life be better if I just stay away?
Am I really being noble, is this really sacrifice
Am I really keeping her from terrible heartache and strife?
Am i saving her life or did I just cave in and break
Or have I taken my daughters place in this cage?
Never say I don't love her, she's my reason to breathe
She's why my heart's on my sleeve, and I believe
That deep inside her heart she'll know
    Daddy never let her go

He sits on the bench all alone, thinking of home
And just how long that he's been gone
Pulls out a picture of his baby girl
Thinks back to times when he was a part of her world
But look at him now, his world has come crashing down
    Relieved is King of Crown

Summer, winter and fall, on this bench he's sat through it all
Reminiscing of times when his baby would crawl
How she would cry endlessly through the night
And how the tears stopped when he said "It'll be alright"
But who is there now to keep her from crying?
He's now mad at himself because he hasn't been trying
To find his little girl, it turns out that she's dying
After four years and some months
It's no longer his thoughts that she haunts
But now his heart that she plagues
It feels like he's died in last place until he's looks at that picture and sees her face
So he goes to that hospital room, he knows what he must do
He knows this place is his tomb, now with this life he is through
He whispers "there are some things that daddy just can't undo, but this heart has always been for you"

I've read this through three times now, changing the tempo in my head, and it still flows beautifully.

On another note, I am so pleased when somebody posts lyrics with correct grammar and spelling.

I tend to skip over other submissions when I see glaring mistakes.

    Keep up the good work.
