and here is the translation... (btw, I love this song)
Θρύψαλα και σκόνη όσα είπες, // pieces and dust of everything you said
// I'm doomed here
Κάτι τέτοιες κουρασμένες νύχτες, // on every tired night like this one
// to look at your things
Κάτσε και μέτρα πόσες συγνώμες, // sit down and count how many apologies
// I've heard from you
Πόσα θα φύγω, πόσα για λίγο // How many "I'll leave", how many "just a little bit more"
// And how much more cheap "I love you"s
Κάτσε και μέτρα τις υποσχέσεις, // Sit down and count the promises
// Relationships aren't the cheap shots
Έκλεψες χρόνο, άλλαξες δρόμο, // You stole time, you changed path
// and you left behind a great damage
Κάποια μέρα ίσως να ξεχάσω, // someday I'll maybe forget
// even if I mix up the drinks
Στο γνωστό αδιέξοδο θα φτάσω // I'll get to the well-known blind alley
// and I'll break things after...
Κάτσε και μέτρα πόσες συγνώμες, // sit down and count how many apologies
// I've heard from you
Πόσα θα φύγω, πόσα για λίγο // how many "I'll leave", how many "just a little bit more"
// And how much more cheap "I love you"s
Κάτσε και μέτρα τις υποσχέσεις, // sit down and count the promises
// relationships aren't the cheap shots
έκλεψες χρόνο, άλλαξες δρόμο, // you stole time, you changed path
// and you left behind a great damage
// sit down and count
Κάτσε και μέτρα πόσες συγνώμες, // sit down and count how many apologies
// I've heard from you
Πόσα θα φύγω, πόσα για λίγο // how many "I'll leave", how many "just a little bit more"
// And how much more cheap "I love you"s
Κάτσε και μέτρα τις υποσχέσεις, // sit down and count the promises
// relationships aren't the cheap shots
Κράτα τις τύψεις, δεν θα μου λείψεις // keep your remorse, I won't miss you
// I'll smile again tonight
What amazes me, is the will of yours and of some other members here (like kmmy, angelxirina, sorry if i forget someone) to perfect your skills in Greek language and to even translate Greek songs...and all of you, you are doing so fine... Minimal mistakes are just minimal in comparison to your effort and your abilities...
I really admire it and i'm speechless...
Good job and great song...![]()
The most charming creatures on this earth. The only women who can show what they feel and, they do feel.
Stunning feeling...to just meet them.
thank you very muchI adore Greek language and practically everything about Greece... I don't have time to take some serious Greek language course, so this forum and few other sites are my only teachers
and yes, the best way to learn a language is through music... when I joined this forum, I think it was January or February, I didn't even know what "Geia sou" means, and look at me now
and that's all thanks to you and other people on this forum who were willing to help... and now, translating songs is good practice for me
