I only can remember the tune and I think one line. The line might not even be correct, but hopefully somebody can help. It is a guy singing or possible a group of guys (chorus for the do dodo part).
"I told my baby.....[something something].....do do dodo do dodo"
It could also be hoo hoo hoohoo hoo hoohoo
Think classic/love duop

"Oldies" go back a *long* ways. Can you at least provide an approximate decade?
-
I can't really tell you what decade, but I'd guess the 50's 60's.
Don't make fun of my singing, but here is the tone of the words.

Perhaps it's 'There Goes My Baby' by The Drifters. The chorus goes, "There goes my baby..." and there is a chorus of guys in the background singing "doo doot doo doo doo."
Sorry if that isn't the right song, I know how frustrating it can be to have a song stuck in your head that you can't identify. It's even worse when you don't know the words and you just end up humming the same part over and over. :-) -
The rhythm of the melody and description is vaguely like "Shop Around"...
The Miracles version:

The Captain And Tennille version has a female singer, but has a clear "dah-dah" part in harmony:

I am still not 100% what it was, but I am satisfied with two songs that could have been it. Luckily I have forgot how it goes exactly, so these both sort of sound right.
First one is by The Drifter:

Second one is a Fallout Song (Might of heard it while playing last week) (Has do dodo thing)

Thanks everyone for the help. -
I am very very late but are you sure it isn't "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby Stills & Nash? If you watch the video I believe the do do do do do part you are looking for is around the 6:30 mark.
