Smudge Stained *Critique Appreciated*
*Imperfections could be seen in the eyes of the affected, and altered for the good by those eyes. So your eyes are not deceiving, they speak truth.*
Mirror on the wall, what do you see?
A shell of a man I used to be
Mirror on the wall, my life’s a lie
I sit and stand in awe, time goes by
Imperfections cloud your smudge stained glass
Hopes and dreams fly by, they’ll never last
Simple pictures in my mind, quite so
How did I let my life get this low?
Gaze at my reflection, simply me
I let her run away, let her flee
I’m standing alone, solitary
Burden on my shoulders, I carry
Mirror on the wall, what do you see?
A shell of a man I used to be
Mirror on the wall, my life’s a lie
I sit and stand in awe, time goes by
Depression, no, its simply the truth
Life ravaged away by horrid youth
But why couldn’t you stay by my side?
You left me, went to go run and hide
How is life now, without your best friend?
Find it quite difficult to live in?
Do you see me standing, you see two
Ones full of hate and one still loves you
Mirror on the wall, what do you see?
A shell of a man I used to be
Mirror on the wall, my life’s a lie
I sit and stand in awe, time goes by
Flat pane of glass hanging on my wall
Solidified my life, showed me all
But I’m not satisfied, I want change
Turned it to shards on my floor, arranged
Mirror on the wall, it sees no more
Turned to shattered pieces on my floor
Flat pane of glass, who is the lie now?
Changed for the better, I’ll show her how.
--My love has a place, filed it so
Collecting dust, sadly its unknown
Hopes raised, high is the bar to expect
The life that once was, I now forget--
