    Verse one:
    We're like the mountains, almost touching the sky;
    But we're restricted, because we can't reach that high.

    We're like the river, flowing into the ground;
    Sometimes a river, is hard to be found.

    Chorus (2x's)
    I will, do the best I can;
    To be everything you need.
    And I will, push past the burdens; that carry me.

    Verse two:
    We're like the waves, rough and then gentle;
    And your changing me, but for the better.

    We're like the forest, dark and haunting;
    We'll get lost but always come back.

    Chorus (1x)
    I will, do the best I can;
    To be everything, you need.
    And I will, push past the burdens; that carry me.

    Verse three/bridge:
    We're like a softly laid feather;
    Rough on the outside but better together.

    Chorus (1x)
    I will, do the best I can;
    To be everything, you need.
    And I will, push past the burdens; that carry me.

    (I'm so cheesy--that's not the subtitle, right?! )

    I find it not cheesy at all. I find it romantic! Keep working!

    Thatsmeonthetrain: Another comment I'd like to make . . . This verse:

    And I will, push past the burdens; that carry me

    did not slow down the song, but in my mind I was thinking 'we carry our burdens.' I woke up this morning, re read your lyrics. It finally came to me the truth: If burdens are numerous enough and heavy enough, sometimes a person would feel "carried by" their burdens! So today I thought--that line works for me!!

    It's more of a personal thing towards me. Because the chorus is like, my point of view. Saying that MY burdens carry ME. And that I will push past them. You know what I'm saying?
    I'm super glad you can relate. I like that a lot :-)

    Hi friend, I liked your lyrics, because you say some true words,
    In the first verse you say that we are restricted in our high, that remembers me the Babel tower.
    In the sencond you say that rivers sometimes flow underground and are difficult to find. I liked that.
    And the waves, sometimes caress our feet, and other times destroy a city.

    One more thing, excuse me but english is my second language and I could not find exactly what cheesy can really mean, at least not talking about a person. Hope you can give me some light about this meaning, thanks.

    Dear amigo Mexico,

    "Cheesy"
    said about something means "gaudy" (a word I know you can find). Another word is "corny." Cheesy and corny are referring to something that has been said before many times; sometimes called "stale" also.

    Cheesy is defined as: [informal] of poor quality : lacking style or good taste.

    By this Miriam Webster Dictionary definition, there is a word used in The South (U.S.) called "tacky"; it has a similar meaning according to the M.W. definition for English learners for cheesy (quoted).

    I just answered because I saw your post first. Thatsmeonthetrain might also wish to explain his meaning. I think he means "I'm cheesy" in reference to this poem (and maybe, he feels, also that he's overly sentimental or emotional). I told him--No, this poem is romantic!

    If this is cheezy then i might think that i'm a giant can of cheese spread This is great! it's a total song! Listen when i joined up here at first i had never been able to write more than 2-4 lines of anything that made sense. but i had a lot of encouragement to just keep starting smth, training my brain and then one day it just worked. i'm not prolific but now i know that if i want to write smth from my heart, i can do it. Now i wanna see great things from you in the near future bcs i can already see it

    Hi dear F. J., Thanks for the explanation, now I have it clear and must tell you that I made the question here to make clear the meaning to all the possible readers, but I hope you can add this to the learning languages forum, because your wise advises are so helpful, and thanks to all our friends of ATL.
    And to thatsmeonthetrain.- first I thought that you said cheesy cause is so soft, but now that I know that is about talking of the same theme, I must tell you that I think as Teshka, "we all are giant cans of cheese", and we are proud of it. Long life to love. And thanks for share your inspiration.

    Si, si, amigo! That applies too, just as well--"soft"--which a man sometimes does not want to be called or be thought of in that way. That definition fits very well!! So you were not wrong at all in making that assumption! "Cheesy" means the other things as well, but your definition of "soft" in a symbolic way is good. You said it so briefly; I am always so talkative!
