SOOO GOOD! Amazing! You are such a great writer! I just love it! I love love love the flow and the rhymes. It's hard to put a lot of rhymes and have the song telling a good story, too. Yours says the storry really nicely. I really liked the 2nd verse.

Doug, I guess that would folk/country. I don't play an instrument but I usually have a melody in my head that I write to. I've always enjoyed folk music, my favorite singer/songwriter is Gordon Lightfoot
I've been called Leadfoot, both for drumming and driving!
"And like the rain I shower you with love" This is a brilliant line, Debeaux. In many of your poems I find a fine rhythm which suits them to be sung.
Take that as a compliment, my friend
Thank you very much. I really appreciate all the compliments and support I've been shown here. I'm glad someone is finally getting to see some of the things that I've written.
You know, Debeaux, the more we write , the more we learn. Not everything we write is great, but that's not the point.
We post quite a lot of what we write, and without support and criticism it feels like shouting in the dark and talking to the walls.
This Forum is great as people take time to read what we write. And we want to KNOW what they think about it.
It helps to build confidence, it encourages, it's important to remember variety. Doug pointed that out on my poetry thread.
He's right there. Thanks for the jewel lines you keep delivering from time to time. These "pop ups" nobody needs to fear!
Be sure I'll be a steady guest here!
