My simple way of life
Might soon be crashing, crashing
I see a danger sign
And it keeps flashing, flashing
I know it's so out of line to even fantasize
Oh yes, I realize but..
The moment I see you, I'm all mesmerized
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
I want to be near you, I really can't disguise
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
You told me several times
We are like sister and brother
And you can speak your mind
While you can't bother your lover
Can it be an invitation I read in your eyes?
Oh yes, I realize that..
The moment I give in, I will pay the price
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
Confusion has set in. What do I sacrifice?
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
Flaming gusts of wanting you
Getting stronger and stronger
Beyond the point of fighting it
Can't hold it much longer
My common sense is leaving me
I feel like letting go..
My defenses are battered, emotions overflow
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
My resistance in tatters, all systems say go
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
I will be moved, oh yeah, I will be moved
Peter,this is interesting,good,and a little confusing!Is this a song or a poem?Is there a chorus?What type of music?
The first stanza is my favorite,by a long shot!!
Thanks, Doug. It is definitely a song and not a poem, although I may have indulged a bit in poetic language. Maybe I'll change the last stanza. After all I do want my song to be sung. The music is groovy with a rhythm 'n blues/soul feel. Van Morrison, Robert Cray, Ray Charles that's the direction I'm thinking of here. Classic rock and classic soul are my favorite types of music.
