so i found this from about 3/4 years ago. its about when my mum had cancer and she didn't tell me and my younger brothers, but i found out but couldn't find a way to let her know that i knew and how she doesn't have to do this alone so i wrote this and gave it to her. she got better and is back to normal and yes we fight and argue like every family but she knows il always be there for her like she has been for me.
Gave all you had to give
You fought for all you won
Feel far from perfection
But you raised the perfect son
You shed blood sweat and tears
For there to be a brighter day
Never stopping to surrender
Even when your skies where so grey
Worked to the bone
For every little crumb
I may not have told you
But you’re the perfect mum
You looked after me
Helped me when I got sad
You tried to gave me all
Of what you never had
Held me tight when I got scared
Nothing you couldn’t do
Picked me up every time
And whispered “I love you”
Worked to the bone
For every little crumb
I may not have told you
But you’re the perfect mum
Now you sit back and rest
It’s my turn to look after you
I’ll hug you when you get scared
And I will help you through
Im here for you always
As I know you are for me
Together we will beat this
Forever strong is this family
Worked to the bone
For every little crumb
I may not have told you
But you’re the perfect mum
Time I worked my hardest
And do all I can do
To show you in my own way
That I love you too
On this song/poem I can only comment with humble feelings: you are lucky to have a good relation with your mother, or let me say: a normal one,
Doug writes he can't say the same, neither can I, unfortunately.
You wrote these words with sincere feelings, I notice. Both you and your mum are lucky ones.
i know i am and im thankful of it every day even when she annoys me or we argue, its one of the worst things i could imagine not having a good relationship with a parent specially a mum.
Having a "good"relationship with a mother or "mother figure"(step-mother) is something, I'm sorry to say, I'm unfamiliar with. When I watch a nature show and see a Lion's cub getting licked by it's mother I almost start to cry! It's something that hurts everyday of my life;no motherly love.Don't do it folks, love your kids, they had no choice in the matter!
