Cause and effect (incomplete but getting there)

I refrain from uploading the last 2 verses for I believe them to be incomplete but am eager to listen to your thoughts so far


Verse 1:
Our lives are filled with regrets,
Humans hide behind a guise,
So let's stare into the eyes,
That stare back filled with lies

Verse 2:
We should not be blamed for choices,
That we made hearing others' voices,
Not by choice we've been deceived,
By the ones our trust received.

Chorus:
To each effect there is a cause,
Should we not see it we must pause,
Refrain from judging and reflect,
On the reasons that spawned effect.

The chorus is fine. it is a general comment on how we should behave as human beings. (I agree with it) What I would like to see in the verses are real-life examples that can reinforce the message in the chorus. Now the verses do the same thing as the chorus: more general statements about human behavior. Specify!
