What is the title to this song?

I was listening to alt nation on sirius radio today and i heard a song i liked but didnt get the title. A line I remember from it went something like this " here comes the pitch a chance to be a hero but instead i watch it go by and come out a zero" something along those lines. It's a song about a having a chance to have a perfect life but letting it go down the drain or something like that. Anyways if anyone has any idea what song im talking about any help would be greatly appreciated.
