Hi! I found the following song with similar lyrics:

    Title: Little Christmas Tree

I watch the snow flakes fall
    Against my window pane
    And wonder if you
    Are watching snow flakes too

    I take a walk downtown
To where you used to meet me
    Theres joy everywhere
    But all thats waiting there

Is just a little Christmas tree
Lookin sorta sad n lonely just like me
    Noone seems to care
    They just went away
    And left it standing there
    All alone on Christmas Eve

    I hear the Christmas bell
    The happy people singing
    The songs of good cheer
    That only brings me tears

    I sadly close my eyes
    And say a little prayer
You'll be waiting there for me
I look but all I see

Is just a little Christmas tree
Lookin sorta sad n lonely just like me
    Noone seems to care
They just went away and left it standing there
    All alone on Christmas eve

This is the season of love
But I'm as sad as I can be
Why did you have to leave me

    Oh little Christmas tree
Lookin sorta sad n lonely just like me
    Noone seems to care
    They just went away
    And left it standing there
    All alone on Christmas Eve

Default The Christmas Tree That Ran Away

He was just a tiny tree, kind of scrawny, kind of thin
In that great big house, didn’t seem to fit in
And Christmas Eve, He heard the mistress of that big old house say
That little tree is ugly get a new one right away

Nobody wants me and tomorrow’s Christmas day
Nobody needs me for the Christmas holiday
Nobody loves me and I have no place to stay
    Nobody wants me
    I’m gonna run away

The old wind whistled and it howled
As he trudged thru the snow
With ornaments and icicles a glow
Past factories and houses and the old sawmill
When suddenly he saw a little cabin on the hill

Nobody wants me and tomorrow’s Christmas day
Nobody needs me for the Christmas holiday
Nobody loves me and I have no place to stay
    Nobody wants me
    I’m gonna run away

Thru the window he could see little Tommy’s curly head
And he heard Tommy praying before he got in bed
We don’t expect presents God but maybe you could see
Someway of getting us just a little Christmas tree

The little gift-laden tree crept inside late that night
And next morning he was greeted with squeals of delight
It’s a miracle they shouted and he knew it was true
For he had found a home and a loving family too

Somebody wants me and today is Christmas day
Somebody needs me, what a happy holiday
Somebody loves me and I have a place to stay
    Somebody wants me
    And I’ll never run away

I have searched for this song for YEARS on the internet. I would sit in my room for hours singing along with this whole album. I just wanted to share a website that I just found tonight that can provide the entire LP on a CD. Do you remember the one, "364 Days in a Year," "10,000 Santa Clauses but Not One Gift for Me"? Anyway, the website is www.recordtimenow.com
I totally understand everyone's feeling on this thread, it brought tears to my eyes when I finally figured the right title and found a way to share these songs with my kids. Merry Christmas.

Wow OMG this was my favorite christmas record (vinyl record) as a kid. My mother used to play this record for me and my sisters every christmas season. My sister secretly found the record online last year and dubbed CDs for all of us. It was the best gift ever. I was about 6 the last time I had heard it I am 26 now and still remembered ever word. I could not wait to play it for my kids this year. I played it in the car on my way to work this morning for the first time this season and it brought tears to eyes. I am so happy to be able to continue the tradition. Its amazing to see how sentimental this record is to other people as well.
