Default Classic rock -- roley oley poley oley?

A song was played on the local classic rock station today that I really want to know who did it. Shame is they even said the name of the band afterwards but I've forgetten it but can't get the tune/lyrics out of my head.

All I can recall is a catchy part of the chorus that sounds like maybe "roley oley oley poley oley"... something like that maybe? It was song kind of soft and mellow. While I was listening to the song I thought to myself "maybe this is buffalo springfield because it SLIGHTLY reminds me of another song of there" but I remember the band name was one word and it wasn't someone I had ever heard of before so they couldn't have been extensively well known.

    Any help? Thanks!

When you mentioned Buffalo Springfield, it reminded me of this song:

    Donovan - "Hurdy Gurdy Man"

Thrown like a star in my vast sleep
I open my eyes to take a peep
To find that I was by the sea
    Gazing with tranquillity.
'Twas then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Came singing songs of love,
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Came singing songs of love.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang.
    Histories of ages past
    Unenlightened shadows cast
    Down through all eternity
    The crying of humanity.
'Tis then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Comes singing songs of love,
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
    Comes singing songs of love.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang.
Here comes the roly poly man and he's singing songs of love,
Roly poly, roly poly, roly poly, poly he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang,
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, gurdy he sang
