My Heart is Yours?

I've been researching the following lyrics (song) for nearly a month and haven't gotten very far with anything that is "concrete" as to "who is the artist?" and "what is the title of this song?" So I thought to try this forum. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

The only information that I've found is that most folks believe it to be either Dave Matthews Band or Matchbox 20. What i do know is that it is a piano acoustic song with one male singing. The lyrics are beautiful and i would love to know who sings it and the title. So here goes with what i've gotten so far with the lyrics:

I found the following in another forum. Additionally, I am now downloading the song and that is indeed how it's listed.

I too have downloaded that song from an alternate site (Dave Matthrews Band - My Heart is Yours - (Dave Matthews, Matchbox 20, Billy Joel, Elton John, Phish, Counting Crows, Garth Brooks). To be honest, I've ruled out Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel, Elton John and Garth Brooks. The voice doesn't "belong" to any of them. I've also checked out various sites and researched Phish, Counting Crows and Matchbox 20, but none seem to list "My Heart Is Yours" *BIG OL' SIGH*
I am tenacious (if nothing else) and I refuse to give up on this one. Having listened to the song (repeatedly!), I am determined to find not only the artist, but the lyrics as well. Thank you once again for your reply. I will keep hunting and hope that someone else may be able to recognize the voice or know the history of the song.

Nice song. I wasn't aware of the mystery surrounding it. I wonder if it's Garth Brooks' alter ego Chris Gaines. A lot of people on the internet trying to figure this one out.

My thanks again for more information (it's nice to know that I am not the only one who is being driven crazy trying to figure out the Artist/Title of this song)! I've listened to it over and over, it doesn't sound like "Garth" ... but then again, C&W Artists is not my "normal" genre' of music listened to. I will try to weave out (or in) the "Chris Gains" possibility and if I find anything, I will post.

I'm still at a loss as to the Artist/Title of the song "My Heart is Yours" (my own "made-up" Title until I can get the information I seek. Thanks to Logan for all of your help (and ideas). I did do a fairly intense search on Chris Gains (a/k/a Garth Brooks) and no where is this song referenced or listed. It really doesn't sound like Garth Brooks (or his alter ego)but it was definately worth the time researching it to at least "narrow" the field. I'm fairly confident that I can rule out Garth. I will keep on searching and if I do come across the information I will definately post it.

I am also researching this mystery!! I am looking for a wedding song and thought this one might be nice since my fiance & I are HUGE DMB fans. But I really don't think it's Dave. Someone with a really raspy voice...bruce springsteen maybe!! I dunno. If there are any leads, please let me know!!

Like the rest of you, I found a lot of deadends. The attached link indicates that the song is called "My Heart is Yours" by Matchbox 20. However, I cannot find the song on any of their albums.

The song is part of a playlist (labeled "Alternative") created by a user named "Darkstar Blood" on the imeem website. The second link is for that user's profile. However, you will need an "imeem" account to contact the user or get more infomation on his/her playlist.

I too downloaded this song thinking it was Dave Matthews. I am a DMB fan and I have lots of their music but had never heard this one. I love the voice and the words of the song. Did you finally get the lyrics? If you ever find out who it is please let me know too!! I got information from a DMB researcher,from the DMB archieves, that My Heart Is Yours has never been performed by DMB but I am still hoping it was and is Dave...in some smoky bar somplace where there wasn't anyone to make these formal listings!

I actually used to have the correct name of the artist on my computer before it crashed. Since then I've yet to find the name or the forum where I got a concrete answer. I do believe the first name started with a D. It's definitely none of the listed artists above, it was some guy no one has probably ever heard of.

I too am surprised this mystery isn't solved yet. Keep trying cause it is driving me nuts too. I just love the song, that raspy voice and the piano is what makes the song so special. If you get anymore info please let me know!
