volevomai

hi

is there anybody who can tell em a bit more about the verb 'volevomai'... i understand that 'na min volesai' means 'don't settle for less', and 'volevomai' means something as 'settle with, accept', but what is the original meaning? somebody told me it literally means 'to take roots', like trees. is that correct?

Hi ! I don’t think " to take roots" its correct. it would be correct if the word was rizono/ ριζωνω
I suppose you can say that it is closer to the meaning of the idiom "to find a snug berth" or more like "I'm settled for good/ I settle down" or like as "the whole situation is too convenient for me and it fits me like a glove"

I think, "don' t settle for less', is another expression of "do not compromise for less"
'na min volesai" has the meaning of resentment, discomfort , or when a situation or even a seat is uncomfortable.

This is how far I can go.
I believe though, two other members, Panselinos and maria_gr, could be more helpfull than me.
