    ¡Muchas Gracias!

pues segun tu, no eras mi gata

Salías de compras todos los dias
    siempre cuidando tu anatomía
llegabas tarde para variar siempre de malas

    Era dificil hablar contigo
    pues me mirabas como enemigo
era una guerra donde el rival
    dormia conmigo

    Te presento a mi amante
la que no anda a la moda
no trae alajas ni es elegante
no usa tacones tampoco luce despampanante

    Te presento a mi amante
    me hizo olvidarte

    Naturalmente que es muy decente
    aunque es mi amante
    es tan perfecta lo suficiente
    para dejarte...

    Mi Buen Amante
    My great lover (mistress)

Son mas virtudes que sus defectos
There are more virtues than her faults
son mas las ganas de darle beso
The desires to kiss her are even more
I have a lover who is with me evrey second
and you, always fashionable and elegant
de uñas muy largas y decoradas
    with long decorated nails
no eras capaz de hacerme un café
you're not able to make me a coffee
pues segun tu, no eras mi gata
because according to you, you're not my servant

Salías de compras todos los dias
    You went shopping every day
    siempre cuidando tu anatomía
    always watching your body
llegabas tarde para variar siempre de malas
you came home late as usual, always in a bad mood

    Era dificil hablar contigo
It was hard talking to you
    pues me mirabas como enemigo
because you saw an enemy in me
era una guerra donde el rival
it was a war in which my rival
    dormia conmigo
    was sleeping with me

    Te presento a mi amante
I introduce to you my lover
la que no anda a la moda
    who isn't into fashion
no trae alajas ni es elegante
she doesn't wear jewels nor she's elegant
no usa tacones tampoco luce despampanante
she doesn't wear high heels nor she looks stunning
she's always herself, so pretty and with no make-up on

    Te presento a mi amante
I introduce to you my lover
the one who made me forget about you with her experience and her innocence

    Naturalmente que es muy decente
    Of course she's very decent
    aunque es mi amante
    even if she's my lover
    es tan perfecta lo suficiente
    she's perfect enough
    para dejarte...
    to (make me) leave you...

I'm new here and unfamiliar with posting so not sure if I'm doing this right. Just wanted to say thanks - that was so fast, I'm excited - I'm always trying to figure out what songs in Spanish mean while I've been learning the language.

    Mi Buen Amante
    My Good Lover

Son mas virtudes que sus defectos
its more virtues that your defects
son mas las ganas de darle beso
are more desires to give you one kiss
I have a lover who is with me all the time
and you, always in fashion and elegance
de uñas muy largas y decoradas
    Nail very long and decorated
no eras capaz de hacerme un café
you were not able to make me a cup of coffee
pues segun tu, no eras mi gata
because according to you, you were not my maid
(gata->literally means cat, but in this case, is criada->maid-housekeeper)

Salías de compras todos los dias
Go out to shopping every day
    siempre cuidando tu anatomía
always watching your anatomy (the way she looks)
llegabas tarde para variar siempre de malas
arriving late to change always bad (bad mood)

    Era dificil hablar contigo
It was difficult to talk with you
    pues me mirabas como enemigo
you looking at me if I was an enemy
era una guerra donde el rival
was a war where the rival
    dormia conmigo
    slept with me

    Te presento a mi amante
    This is my lover
la que no anda a la moda
which does not go to fashion
no trae alajas ni es elegante
Does not bring jewelry nor is elegant
no usa tacones tampoco luce despampanante
Nor does not use heels or looks amazing
she is always so nice and without makeup

    Te presento a mi amante
This is my lover(I introduce you my lover)
that with her experience with her innocence
    me hizo olvidarte
    made me forget you

    Naturalmente que es muy decente
Of course (she) is very decent
    aunque es mi amante
    though (she) is my lover
    es tan perfecta lo suficiente
    is so perfect enough
    para dejarte...
    to leave you...
the first love is gone ... am waiting for the last one!!

Zahra: defective is used mostly for nouns, for personal pronouns "fault" is better.

Also, though decorated nails is the correct literal translation, i think manicured sounds better.

And lastly, I would just like to congratulate you Angelbuns for finding the best translation forum in town. (IMHO, I would not quote an entire translated song, especially when long).

Yes, this site was a great find for me. But did I goof up already? Am I not supposed to post a whole song? How will I find out all the lyrics otherwise?

You did not do anything wrong, i meant when you gave your thanks, you quoted the entire song, it's not wrong, just repetitive & space user. Enjoy the forum & welcome!!
