Hey guys, I'm back with a new one. I got the title for this one about a month ago when I purchased a book entitled "Blasphemy". I personally thought that the word itself is a fairly strong word. I found out recently that even though I'm no longer living at home, I still end up in every argument that ever happens between my parents. Now, for those of you who haven't read any of my other posts, my father has his own perception of me and it's relatively grim. After remembering the word "blasphemy", I decided to look up the actually meaning of the word. Although it's mostly used in a religious context, the actual meaning of the word is blasphemy is any act or spoken word that is contrary to a widely accepted belief. Bearing that in mind, here are the lyrics for "Blasphemy".
I am not the enemy of your beliefs. I am merely
A symbol of the life you are too scared to lead,
Nothing more than a calloused soul
That takes the scraps of these deceptions.
Negligence coupled with your sinful pride
Forged this beast you now acknowledge as a dream.
Never before did I believe this was a one way street,
And never again will I commit myself to admitting that fact.
The level of my faith is well known and will not be disputed.
The question is will your professed mindset continue
When your heart is dying?
Chorus:
I am a fallen angel,
But I am not evil.
I'm as guilty as sin,
But I'm not the devil.
Three wrongs make a right.
Never say always, always say never.
All good deeds are punished.
Take this life, condemn me forever.
My acts are the accumulation of pain,
Not the cause of it.
The motivation is ignorance.
The result is apathy.
You have willingly been blind
To the world outside of your home.
Your life was never meant to be enjoyed,
But something to be feared into living.
To believe I am something less is your prerogative.
Your use of slander has turned me into
A phantom menace that will never go away.
Chorus
Stand before the people and preach your faith
In contention and hypocrisy.
Depletion of compassion is what created this monster I am.
You've commited no crime, but
Murdered my chance to live a normal life.
Where was the priest when your demons conquered my soul?
The God that you worship has allowed this evil to rise.
Who can I believe in now?
I cannot become your hope for superiority.
I will not succomb to the price of being silent.
I must not allow my fate to end with your faults.
