Πέντε Έλληνες στον ʼδη = Five Greeks at Adhs'
ανταμώσαν ένα βράδυ = met one night
Και το γλέντι αρχινάνε = and the fun started
κι όλα γύρω τους τα σπάνε = and they broke everything around them
Με μπουζούκια, μπαγλαμάδες = With bouzouki and baglama ( those are the musical instruments that they play this kind of music with)
τρέλαναν τους σατανάδες = they turned mad the devils
Κι από κέφι ζαλισμένοι = and dizzy with pleasure
χόρευαν οι κολασμένοι = the guests were dancing
Στο ρωμαίικο τραγούδι = In the Romaic* song
κάηκε το πελεκούδι = they had great fun (idiom)
Κι όλοι φώναζαν αράδα = and everyone was shouting in turn
να μας ζήσει η Ελλάδα = Long live our Greece!
*Romaic = Modern Greek
Basically this is it, but please keep in mind this is a highly traditional song and to understand it you need to know the culture in depth because it has many culture references. Also, please keep in mind I am not a native speaker neither of Greek, nor of English, so any corrections would be highly welcome.
Just one correction to the translation but which gives a new dimension to the song: Adis is not your average koutouki. Adis is Hades, the ancient Greek's idea for life in Hell after death. hence the reference to devils in verse 6 and to κολασμενοι= the damned in verse 8.
Regards
Giorgos
Here's a more understandable English translation:
Five Greeks in Hell,
Got together one night,
and they began to party
breaking everything around them
With bouzoukia and paglamas ( those are the musical instruments that they play this kind of music with)
they drove the demons crazy
and being dizzy with pleasure
the rest of the damned joined and danced
With the Romaic* song
they had great fun (idiom)
and everyone was crying out together
Long live our Greece!
