Hi.
This is my first post here on this forum.
I have a request for the lyrics on Hard Luck Woman by Sean Costello from the album We can get together.
It can be heard here:

Im from Sweden so it is hard for me to get all the nuances in the lyrics.
Any help is appreciated.

Request for lyrics - Hard Luck Woman - Sean Costello

Hello SvenW
A friend tipped me off that you needed some help. I listened to more than one of the posted versions. These are the lyrics that I believe are correct. He seemed to play a little loose with the lyrics in some parts, changing slightly from one recording to the next. The major changes are noted with an X/Y.
Also sometimes he pauses and repeats the last word when he starts again and occasionally he throws in an "a" here and there
Sean Costello – Hard Luck Woman
I tried to love you but it, it was no use
I feel like I’m choking on a, a hangman’s noose
Hard luck woman you know you’re always down
Hands in my pockets with/and your, your eyes on the ground
Hard luck woman/baby I’m leaving your hard luck town
I’m leaving your hard luck town
Well you’re a, a good lookin’ woman you know truth be told
but a love/lovin' you yeah baby just is way too cold
Lord have mercy, woman, on your hard luck soul
Baby on your hard luck soul
Well a, a hard luck a woman you know I believe you’re cursed
My luck keeps a going from bad to worse
I’m leaving here baby, if I’m leaving here/gonna get in a hearse
If they carry me in a hearse
And when I leave you woman you know I, I can’t be found
and 99 hounds can’t track me down
Hard luck woman, I’m turning my luck around
I’m turning my luck aroundWenn man dem Hass freien Lauf läßt, wird er die Seele von innen zerstören. -
Thanks Macbard, great that you found the time to have a look here!!!
I found it hard to understand all the words. -
Hi Macbard,
Great!
I'm more than thankful! -
Hello !
i`ve just discovered the great blues by Sean Costello.
the song "father" touches me deep, but i can`t get all the words
help me, please.
here is what i get:
Sean Costello - Father
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan(?)
Did you raise your son to make a stand(?)
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan(?)
Don`t you make the same mistake, that your (?) father made.
Did you raise son to be a (?) man
Father says - son, can you see the sign?
This whole round world could be own(?) mine(?)
Father says - son, can you see the sign?
I need you on a not(?)around, don`t you let your father down
Can`t you the stars are ... (?)
Father, can you see i`m .... (?)
I`ve really changed your mind if you only knew
Father, can you see i`m .... (?)
You told me where do not to... (?) That just can`t be the way to go
I`m not gonna do your dirty work for you.
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan(?)
Did you raise your son to make a stand(?)
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan(?)
Don`t you make the same mistake, that your (?) father made.
Did you raise son to be a (?) manLast edited by shmarik; 10-18-2010 at 02:50 PM.

Hi shmarik
I transcribed the song 'Father' to play in my band - I did it to the best of my ability, but am happy to be corrected!
Sean Costello - Father
Father, don't you make me carry out your plan
Didn't you raise your son to make a stand
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan
Don't you make the same mistake, that you watched your father make
Didn't you raise son to be a righteous man
Father says - son, can't you see the sign?
This whole round world could be yours and mine
Father says - son, can't you see the sign?
I'll meet you on the battle ground, so don't you let your father down
Can't you the stars are all alligned
Father, can you see your fate come into view?
I believe you'd change your mind if you only knew
Father, can you see your fate come into view?
You taught me well enough to know
That this can't be the way to go
I`m not gonna do your dirty work for you.
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan
Didn't you raise your son to make a stand
Father, don`t you make me carry out your plan
Don't you make the same mistake, that you watched your father make
Didn't you raise son to be a righteous man
Hope that works for you - I spent ages trying to get it right, as I was the one in the band who had to sing it!
All the best
Simon
