It is not the gospel song fallen leaves, its not the sixspence none the richer song either. its the song that says something about the girl being born in a wigwam, and becuz she was born in october they called her fallen leaves. i know thi is vage sorry, but it is a bluegrass song...

I think it's a very, very old traditional song.
If you take a look here you find a couple of different versions of the lyrics and some musicians who recorded the song.

I don't know... but on the site I linked above is one version with listed credits Words, Annie M. Curtis. Music, A. C. Farnham. 1871. and a link to this picture of an old songbook. I don't know if this really is the original version of that song, but thinking about the fact that the girl in the song is born in 1863 in some versions, 1871 seems a possible year.
