Wading slowly
Through the waters of my breath
Breathing carefully
I do not want to test
How far my lungs will go
To help keep me alive
I don't know what to expect
Live life recklessly
I run and hide

The pain is unbearable
I wasn't prepared
This unpleasant surprise
I never even knew was there

Beware
Of the haunting beasts that are moving slowly

Gasping loudly
I wonder if you hear
My silently screaming
Aiming towards your ear
I know I'm hard to find
Shrouding darkness

Racing faster
I cannot catch my breath

Dying in my bed
