Solved: fiddle and i

My father (born 1904!) and his older sister used to sing/play a song calle dfiddle and that started "By road and river, countryside and town, I roam forever with my fiddle brown". Has anyone hear of this and can they tell me t e whole lyric / tell me where I can obtain sheet music for it?
