'Burn right through my mind'?

OK, so I'm in the 99p shop in Gloucester which, along with Poundland, is one of the best opportunities, these days, for hearing new music, since I tend to have Radio 4 on in the background. And yet again, there's an interesting song coming through the shop speakers, and yet again, I try to catch a few lyrics which are sufficiently distinctive to fuel a Google search. Trouble is, when I get home and conduct the search, I get nada, nix, nothing.

The words I memorised, I'm pretty sure, were, 'The things you say, burn right through my mind', and the song was kind of trancy, with the vocalist sounding a lot like Aimee Mann, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't her.

So is there anyone out there who just happens to think this song is the bee's balls, and how could anyone not know it..?

Of course, now when I Google it, I get a link to this thread. I imagine that anyone else looking for it will see the same, and think, 'great, maybe someone answered'. Well, not yet...

It's annoying that I apparently didn't pick a more unique series of words. Guess I'll have to spend more time at the 99p shop...
