Hi Steve, Christina Sturme is very well known in Germany.
Unfortunatelly the radio stations do not play a lot of swiss music here :-(

Here is one of my favourite songs this time. They sing in a dialect which is spoken in an area where Austria and Swiss and Germany are borderlines to each other. YOu can get the meaning of the song while watching the video. When you think you might here something like "way down" it sings that his feet have hurt so much.

I don't listen to German music very often, but I love these songs:

In Extremo - Tanz mit mir

http://irc.lv/video?id=61s4powQJ0uT (sorry I couldn't find it on youtube)

    Unheilig - Für immer

Glashaus - Haltet die Welt an

    And hi, Sade!

But I always thought Swiss German was so alike our way of talking here where I live, but I don't get a thing when they sing Oo

Other nice songs are those from Rosenstolz, I like most of them =)

Default i liebä di - neui Lied vo Natacha

Ich versuche später dieses Lied ins Englisch zu übersetzen
I'll try to translate this song into English later

    I Liebe Di Lyrics
    Natacha

Sig ä Tag wie jede andre
ha ni gmeint wo ig di troffe ha
weis no wele Song isch gloffe
weles Chleid das ig denn an ha gha
    Irgendwie het aus grad gstumme
blaue Himu u viel Sunneschiin - uf mir Hut

Plötzlech seit ä Stimm vo hinger
kennsch ne Du - är isch früsch härecho
    Auge wie Torpedo ziele
Träffe mi wie süsch no nie eso
    Dä Momänt het aus veränderet
Nüt isch meh eso wies mau isch gsii - für di u mi

    I liebe di
I la di nie meh si
    bi immer da für di

U ou we d` Wält sött underga
    De bliibeni geng bi dir
    hange so fescht a dir

U ds einzige woni nid verliere will, bisch du

    Nadisna isch dunkler worde
ewig hätti mir hie chönne stah
sones Gfüel isch chum zum gloube
ud?s Verlagne seit - chum bliib doch da
d? Vorsicht mah fasch nümme gfahre
schpüelt is furt is Meer vo Isch u Füür

    m¨ssen.....
    Jan und Hein.........

alle die Tod und Teufel nicht fürchten
    müssen .......
    alle die ölige Zwieback lieben....

Dieses Lied habe ich sehr gerne. Es gibt Versionen von Irrlichtern, Streuner, Schelmisch, Whistlebinkies....Hier aber Des Teufels Lockvögel:

Here all about this song, as originally it was an english folksong, the german version was made by Schelmisch:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Ravens
