I wrote this song for my best friend who just found out that her only sister has cancer and it's a rare type, so it's hard to treat. She was gone for a while, and then when I saw her again, she was so crushed. I got home and then while washing dishes, the first stanza just popped up in my head. Here it is. Criticism wanted and respected; y'all are the pros.
“You’ll Find A Way”
Verse1- This morning started out
Like every other day
Did you ever suspect
That it’d all change
Bridge-That whisper in your head
That tear in your eyes
You hide it so well
But I can tell
Bridge-I saw you crumble
I heard you break
Just force a smile
So I’ll know you’re ok
Verse2-I can’t tell you what will happen
I can’t find the words
If I lay my hand on your shoulder
Will it make it worse
Bridge-The choke in your voice
Your face is a decoy
You sink more and more
Telling the story of the hours before
Bridge-I watch you fall
Farther and farther
Till you can’t find yourself
And the day seems darker
Verse3- I can’t stop the power of time
I can’t save a fading life
But I can stay beside you
Till your pain subsides
Bridge-I know you’re strong
I’ve seen you fight
And even when you can’t see your enemy
I know you’ll find a way to survive
Bridge- I know
You won’t rest till you see the light
