There is a song that was famous sometime around the late 80's or early 90's sung by a black lady (I think the song is R&B) and it had the following lyrics as far as I can remember:

I still hear it once in a while on the radio but I just can't figure out enough of the other lyrics to search for the song. I hope I have given enough information to have someone help me find the song.
