    to please

    KIZILIRMAK - Nasıl Yar Diyeyim:

Nasıl Yar Diyeyim Ben Böyle Yare
    Mecnun Edip Çöle Saldıktan Sonra
    Alemin Bağına Bülbüller Konmuş
    Nidem Benim Gülüm Solduktan Sonra

    Karadır Kaşların Keman İstemem
    Şu Gönlümden Özge Mihman İstemem
    Ölsem De Derdime Derman İstemem
    Ok Vurup Sinemi Deldikten Sonra

    Coşkun Çaylar Gibi Çağlamayan Yar
    Gönlünü Gönlüme Bağlamayan Yar
    Benim Bu Halime Ağlamayan Yar
    Daha Ağlamasın Öldükten Sonra

Pir Sultan Abdal'ım Sürem Bu Yolu
    İnsanı Kamilin Olmuşam Kulu
    İster Yağmur Yağsın İsterse Dolu
    Nidem Ben Ummana Daldıktan Sonra

    Yar Diyeyim:
    "Beloved" shall I say

Nasıl Yar Diyeyim Ben Böyle Yare
How shall I say "beloved" to such a beloved
    Mecnun Edip Çöle Saldıktan Sonra
After s/he made me "Mecnun" and let me go to the desert
Also means: .....send me into the desert
    Alemin Bağına Bülbüller Konmuş
Well, singing birds had been attempting to the vineyard of all the others
    Nidem Benim Gülüm Solduktan Sonra
What should I do after my rose get fade

    Karadır Kaşların Keman İstemem
Your eyebrows are black, so... I don't want the violin
He (songwriter) means: In any case, your eyebrows are black and LONG enough,
I don't need the violin to play music, I don't need an instrument to get melancholy

    Şu Gönlümden Özge Mihman İstemem
I don't want a guest other than my heart
    this is old Turkish
I don't want a guest that's more real than my heart
So can you understand in new Turkish

    Ölsem De Derdime Derman İstemem
Even If I'm going to die, I don't want any cure for my sorrow
    Ok Vurup Sinemi Deldikten Sonra
After shooting the arrow and pricking the heart
I think he means: I don't want a cure from another people after you have broken my heart

    Coşkun Çaylar Gibi Çağlamayan Yar
Beloved, which doesn't rush like wild (water of) creeks
This is so difficult, There is no English meaning... He means: You don't show emotion like wild waters/rivers
    "çay" can also mean "river"

    Gönlünü Gönlüme Bağlamayan Yar
Beloved, which doesn't tie her/him heart to mine
    Benim Bu Halime Ağlamayan Yar
Beloved, which doesn't cry to my being now
für die Lage, in der er sich befindet

    Daha Ağlamasın Öldükten Sonra
Well, s/he should not cry after I die

Pir Sultan Abdal'ım Sürem Bu Yolu
I'm Pir Sultan Abdal and I shall keep on going on this way
Here, he means the way of him Religion (Alevism)

    İnsanı Kamilin Olmuşam Kulu
I have become the slave of completed human being
Insani Kamil is the highest level in this Religion. There are 4 gates and 40 posts
You reach the goal (also being Insani Kamil) with every gate that you had completed,
then you are a person who has reached spiritual maturity
This is like Nirvana in Buddhism.

    İster Yağmur Yağsın İsterse Dolu
So, either the rain or hail should be fall
    Nidem Ben Ummana Daldıktan Sonra
What should I do with them, after I dive into the ocean
I think ocean is something with Religion Alevism again...
He will say "I have reached my goal of my human being, I'm an "Insani Kamil" now
So, whatever happens is no more important after this point in time

Bittersüß und wunderwunderschön! Vielen Dank für die große Mühe

This was one of the first Turkish songs I ever heard and now - much later - I'm glad that I like the lyrics, too. Thank you so much..

Habe den letzten Teil auch probiert zu übersetzen... hatte damals keine Zeit mehr gehabt... Das wurde auch von Aytekin Aytac gesungen

Apropos, this Deyish was made popular by Ali Ekber Cicek...

But, he's known with "haydar haydar"... these notes, the way that he played the instrument wird als schulstoff in the english and american universities benutzt
