Default Halloween song- The Legend Of The Mc Dow Hole

This is just a rough draft... I hope to get a few suggestions to help me have it finished before Halloween...

THe Legend of the MC Dow Ghost Hole-
    (c)10-22-2010
    Ben C. Hodge

The following is a true story of real events that occured some time ago--- whatever you do- don't go near this place, or you very well may breath your last!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!

A vicious dog is chasing you down fast
    How long can you last?
All at once you look back
Nothing's there as you take a second glance??

    Now-
    It's all HALLOWS-eve
And your on a gruesome path
You think you hear the wind whisper-turn back- turn back-
Do you know why that sign said KEEP OUT-Don't Trespass?
You thought these were just tall tales?
Like the one from 1855-The Comanche bloodbath??

    (chorus)
    The Mc Dow Ghost Hole
    The Mc Dow Ghost Hole
    Is off the beaten path
It's took many 6 feet under yes-yes it has
    Go ahead and laugh
Most would take their own life-
    Than to ever go back

The location? I thought you were never gonna ask
It's in Alexander, Tx.- a ghost town-in the county of Erath
    Close to Green's creek-
    Go down there once-
Chances are you'll never make it back

    The fog is so thick
You can barely see your hands-
You feel something grab at you-
As you run for your life-at-

    Repeat chorus-----------

    In late 1860-
    Some pioneers purchased the land-
Built their cabin close to the creek-
    Called themselves the McDow clan-

    It's all HALLOWS-eve
And your on a gruesome path
You think you hear the wind whisper-turn back turn back-
Do you know why that sign said Keep Out- Don't Trespass?

You see the moonlight on the water-
Big willow trees cast dark shadows-And a black cat just crossed your path-
You thought these were just tall tales?
Like the one from 1855-The Comanche bloodbath??

    Repeat chorus-

The fog now is so thick- you can barely see your hands-And a black cat just crossed your path-
Maybe they are true- the stories from the past?
You feel something grab for you-

1860 the worse thing that could happen
    Some pioneers purchased the land-
Built their cabin close to the creek-
    Called themselves the McDow clan-

Mc Dow convinced newphew Charile Papworth-that life here was grand-So he purchased some land from a squatter- Had easy access to the water-
    Charlie sure liked that-
One day Charlie had to go out to Texarkana-
Jenny his wife-and the baby stayed back-

    It's all HALLOWS-eve
And your on a gruesome path
You think you hear the wind whisper-turn back turn back-
Do you know why that sign said Keep out ! Don't Trespass?

Maybe they are true- the stories from the past?
You feel something grab at you-
As you run for your life-at-

    Repeat chorus-----------

McDow convinced nephew Charlie-that life here sure was grand-so the Papworths purchased some land
From a squatter- Had easy access to the water
    Charlie sure liked that-
One day he had to go out to Texarkana-
Jenny his wife-and the baby- stayed back-
But BiG Bad Brownlow knew she heard him talkin' bout rustling cattle
And he just couldn't take a chance-

    Repeat chorus-

Many years had passed since the murders-and a Bartender- bet 2 known bank robbers
    Couldn't make it a nite
In the Ol' abandoned Papworth shack-
They bought a couple whiskey jugs-
Said we don't believe in none of that-
Tried to shoot holes in that ghost-to no avail-
    Headed for the hills-
Later said they wouldn't come within 50 miles of the County of Erath-

Brownlow killed Jenny and her baby
Dumped em' down an ol' seephole
    Covered em' up with boulders
    So no one would know-
But in the end Jenny Papworth- would get the last laugh

Again many years have passed-There was an ol' drunk who liked to craft furniture
But the town had bout all they could have
SO he moved along- Knew he wouldn't be bothered
If he moved in that rusty abandoned shack- He saw Jenny's ghost-
They found him the next morning of an apparent heart attack-

    Repeat chorus-

The year 1885-Brownlow laid on his deathbed with the fever
    Screaming keep that woman away
Just then 2 witnesses said they saw Jenny's ghost hover above
With her baby in hand-Before he died Brownlow admitted to the murders-He couldn't escape his past-

SO take my advice-----Don't go near that abandoned Papworth cabin
She's been seen by the creek- and at those ol' train tracks
Stay away- danger lurks around the corner-
It's all Hallows Eve and Jenny's waiting -
If you want to take the chance??
