You didn't get my joke and now I'm really sad. I don't think Turks are killers and it wasn't my purpose to offend you. I just was sarcastic about my nation and not yours. So, about greek, yeah it's in the same category with your language (in the indo-european category). And it's more close to you that turkish, but this doesn't mean that it's an easy language. I think turkish is more easy cause it doesn't have articles, genters or irregular verbs, but greek has and we decline the nouns, articles, partciples, adjectives, pronouns and there are many exceptions. The difficult thing in turkish (at least for me) is that they have in their words vowel from the same category and that they add in their words one or more endings which change the meaning. To speak the truth this is killing me.

but turkish has some estructures those are very unfamiliar to me... the word order in the sentences, and its many suffixes... the present tense (i am taking a tarkan's song for example: why does "ölürüm sana" mean "I would die for you" if "ölürüm" is present tense? why does "seni seviyorum" mean "i love you" if its litteral translation is "i am loving you"? why can't i say "seni severim"? some turkish people said me this present tense (genis zaman) can be used as future too... i am really confused about it, and so far nobody could explain me about this issue exactly...

Lesennacığım; present tense can be used as future tense in english, too. Think in this way. "ölürüm sana", hmmm, you are right it's a bit difficult to tell. We use this kind of expressions by using present tense. ölürüm sana means I can die for you. If You say "ölüyorum sana", it means that you love somebody soo much and your love is almost deadly. You see there is meaning difference. If we say "seni severim", we say a general endearment to somebody and usually you say it to your friends, relatives an so on. But "seni seviyorum" is for your darling first of all but you can say it other people, too. I couldn't explain well, but I mean you don't tell your love to your darling by saying "seni severim", ok? Know these for now, I can explain if you have problems again

Ok, my friend. Thanks for your understanding. But i want you to be sure that I'll never offend you or your country. If I didn't like Turkey, then I wouldn't try to learn your language. And something more: I always judge Greece. I love my country, but things are not perfect. Believe me, I'm the first person who judges Greece. And the ring tone in my mobile is "Kalimera Ellada" of Goin' Through, a song which castigates the Greek reality...So you can understand what kind of person I am. I judge firstly my own country and then all the other.

Maria, I was saying hello to the sarbel-supporters , and said that this site is great to learn greek for them , or for some turkish, and i told that i will open a greek- subject in sarbel's turkish forum, and yea well as u said ; even the ppl who speak greek little bit can make mistakes , like me =d ehehe. thnx for correcting me xx

Well, the frase you said wasn't wrong, but i thought that it wasn't suitable for this moment. You said "ti ekane edo"=What did he/she do here". So I thought that you wanted to say "Ti kanete edo"=What are you doing here" But i must congratulate you cause you're good

I'm very sorry for my words. it was my fault to misunderstand your joke, also understanding inversely. Think about it, I feel like a real mad, you meant greeks but I thougt just the opposite! I'm very sad about it, you didn't deserve my words. I know of course you like turkey I didn't say the opposite. I judge and sometimes criticise my country, too. Because of some political matters in the past, people still discuss with each other. I'm very upset about it and when I saw your words in the joke, I thought difirent. Anyway, I hope I could express myself. I don't think anything negative about you and I hope you don't consider me as a fanatical nationalist, for me ethnicity isn't important. if it was, I wouldn't be here... Don't worry. I could never think negative things about you, my friend. It was nothing. I'm glad that you understood that I didn't mean to offend you. I hate to ethnicity and especially extreme ethnicity. I get mad with my country about this. We cannot make progress if we don't dismiss these kind of thoughts and believes...

maria mou, efharisto poli for the link : ) the lyrics are so sweet! i have a lot of greek friends so i try learning some greek i kind of know how to read with the alphabet a little : P what i have noticed like with turkish and greek and other languages from like eastern europe we have a lot of the same expressions and like ways of explaining things. its kind of hard to explain.. but like when were angry or something well be like " of aman" lol and then greeks say that too i think and like albanians and other places that are bordering they all use like the same ways of expressing themselves, and we dance kinda of the same and eat the same food like the cultures are so different and beautifully unique but then theres like this thing that joins us together like a link which i think is nice
