Hi my dear friend, sorry for my late reply.
Yes, "Porsidam" is I asked. "Bepors" is the imperative form (2nd person singular) of the verb "Porsidan", so "to ask' = "porsidan".
1- "Man tâzeh azat porsidam"
2- "Porsidam" for I asked, "Miporsam" (Khaham Porsid ->Formal) for I will ask, and "Miporsam azash" (az oo miporsam ->Formal) for I am asking her/him. (In Persian we have only one 3rd person singular)
3- "Behesh goftam" (Beh oo goftam ->Formal) for I told you, "tâzeh behet goftam" (its Formal form would confuse you) for I already told you, and "Behet migam" (Beh shoma khaham goft ->Formal) for I will tell you.
4- "Ferestâdam" for I sent, "Miferestam" (Khaham feretâd ->Formal) for I will send, and "Miferestam" for I am sending.
5- "Dâdam" for I gave, "Midaham" for I am giving, and "Bedeh" for Give (imperative form 2nd person singular).***The translations have been done by Bijan Kardouni AKA veryclever1980*** -

Thankyou very much Veryclever1980 Dear! Great explanation like always! =))
So if I were to say ''I will ask her tomorrow'' Would it be '' man farda miporsam azash''
Could we also swap 'miporsam' and 'azash' round? would it still be the same? 'man azash miporsam'. Just wondering =)
So if I said 'I sent her a book' Would it be 'Man yek ketab(ro??) behesh ferestadam'
If I were to say 'I already told you I am tired' would it be 'Man tazeh behet goftam ke khasteh shodam' ??
For example, 'I gave you a key' would it be 'Man be to/behet kelide(ro) dadam' or 'Man (yek) kelide(ro??) dadam behet' ??
When ye/yek is used in sentances, can they both mean 'a' or '1' ??
Also can you tell me how to say wash. Am trying to do some homework from a Easy persian, for example: 'My mother washed 78 plates tonight'
'Her mother did not wash 77 plates tonight.
Thankyou in advanceLast edited by Kama_K; 03-10-2011 at 03:13 PM.

Using farsi script, how would I write the word "Destiny". Not the farsi word for "Destiny", but the english word spelled in farsi characters?

You're welcome my friend.
You're amazing. Yes, that's right. You can swap them and it will not change the meaning.
For ferestâdan, we always use "Barâsh" or "Barâye oo" (Formal). Barâye is something like "For" in English and "Beh" is like "To".
Excellent
"ye" is the informal form of "yek" and yes you're right, both of them mean 'a' or '1'.
Wash = Shostan
'My mother washed 78 plates tonight' -> Formal -> Mâdaram (or mâdare man) emshab 78 (haftâd va Hasht) zarf (râ) shost.
Informal -> Mâmânam emshab 78 (haftâd o hasht) zarf (ro) shost.
'Her mother did not wash 77 plates tonight' -> Formal -> Mâdarash (mâdare oo) emshab 77 (haftâd va haft) zarf (râ) nashost.
Informal -> Mâmânesh emshab 77 (haftâd o haft) zarf (ro) nashost.
***You can also omit (râ) and (ro) for this verb.***The translations have been done by Bijan Kardouni AKA veryclever1980*** -
Sepâs gozâram xaharam
If you have time, could I request some more translations? I think I may have said before, my mother tongue is Zazaki, which is a Northwestern Iranian language similar to Gileki, Balochi and Kurdish. Therefore, Farsi is a sister language))
I will write down the Zazaki equivalents next to the English, for you to see the closeness/and similarities between our two great languages
> Without reason (bêsebeb)
> On the threshold (berteng)
> Good news (mijdani)
> I stayed afar (düri mendo)
> my love (yara mı )
> The key of the mountains (kilıtê kou)
> The trance (tewt)
> The red apple (saya sure)
> Heq şi (the truth has gone)
> Mı kilıtê kou kerde vındi (I have lost the key of the mountains) -
Thankyou so so much my very VERY clever friend =D
Phew I feel relieved that I can actually memorise all of this, thankyou SO much for your help.
I forgot to ask something before, something which will seem SO simple (hehe) .. Before I asked about how we could say I gave 'Dadam' and I am giving 'Midaham'. What is 'bedam'? and also is 'midam' the same as 'midaham'??
Thanks in advance =)) -
translation
I would love to help you if I could...unfortunately I am not familiar with Persian. I have seen dictionairies for different languages which you can purchase to translate and hope this information will be of some help to you.
