Farid El Atrache - Ya khoufi bo3dou la itawel

A very good song for Farid, mainly the last part, from the film متقولشي لحد at the time egypciam films tried to imitate those ones made in Holywood.Also an amazing performace of the famous egypcian belly dancer Samia Gamal.it was told that she was farid's lover.Any corrections or comments to improve the translation will be welcome.

To be honest I have never heard that يا ليل يا ليل is used to show lament ,moan etc.....The two ya youma , ya beyy ya bouy I have never heard about them can u provide arabic transcription ,please

The one who shows lament that I know is يا ويل (woe is) or يا ويلي (woe is me),when u say يا ويلك =ya weelak,means tough luck /rough life!!!

hehe .. sweety it depends on the song .. sometimes its used as an expression .. sometimes not.. just depends on how you percieve things.. and in this song both fit.. when you say "oh night!!!" its a sign of desperation, longing... etc.. so to me its kinda the same .. i did think of it as just an expression at first, but i didnt want to confuse other readers.. such as Czarek here.. but all up to you sweety =D

Czarek: sweety different words can be used to express different feelings .. just as i explained about "ya lail" .. "ya yuma" means "Oh mother" and "ya beyy" or "ya bouy" means "oh father".. all used in the sae sense.. also you can say "Ya Rabi!" meaning "Oh God!" .. all signs of desperation, longing, sadness, heartbreaks, calling out for help.. etc

Yes u are right ,I don't listen them that much so my answer was related much more to modern songs
