As to your son, well the only (rather obvious) comment I might make is: Like mother, like son! Small wonder, after all , he's God's grandson, right?!
Anyways, I'm proud of you both, if you don't mind it!
Thanks Paul ...No, I don't mind that at all.
I'm starting a sweet little international music oriented project and hope you'd join me in trying to follow it through.
Bijan is already on board ...I'll write you on facebook .
Steve , you're welcome to take part as well.

Today we celebrate 93rd anniversary of regaining our independence (in 1918) and thus I should like to extend an especially warm Shabbat Shalom to all of you!

Shabbat Shalom Pauli mou and Happy Independence Day....
May all minorities and political entities live to see the day of their independence ..Palestinians included ...
(should they adapt to and adopt the Democratic attitude and game play...)
We've been going through some rough times in our family due to the loss of my niece's father, hence my absence.
After completing the Shiva (seven days of mourning) we're trying to resume normal life, despite the concern for my niece's well being.
So ...I give you ....an optimistic song ..

    Rita - Waiting

    One day it'll happen
Without us noticing it, something will change
Something will relax in us, something will touch us
And there will be nothing to be afraid of

And it'll come like a line "carved" in a palm
    It'll come, sure of itself
    Like it's always been there
waiting for us to notice it

    And it'll come , you'll see
the clenched hands will get longer
and the heart who is guarding of getting hurt will beat in a normal pace
it'll come like nature is used to
    being complete with itself

    2x

And it'll come, you know for sure
    not everything will shake us
    not everything will hit (us)
And what's going to be open for us
    is WAITING

    BIG Todah, Bat El mou!
    Beautiful song - love it!<3

I'm so very sorry to hear of the sad family news, dear!
    Please accept my condolences.
    May He rest in piece!

Amen! - to what you wrote about independence.

I wish I had somehing Greek to offer you but then I'm so hopelssly Turkish.

This is from the PTS' Turk of Our Lives Award Winner's latest album which has just come to me straight from Istanbul (courtesy of a friend of mine who happened to be there on a business trip).

The title of the song is literally - "Bring your sorrows to me"? or more elegantly: "Share your burden with me". And its mood is rather mournful...

    TanrIm(= theos mou):

I'll try to translate the lyrics for you over the weekend.

BTW, Bogda asked me to send you her very best regards and ask you whether we'd have a chance to see you in Poland this autumn.:-?????

    1001 Neshikot!
    SHALOM SHABBAT AGAIN!

And I hate to sound like the "shallow" one of the group here, but his face is to die for . . . I think if I'd see him in person, I'd kiss him (if a "cousin" can do this) on the lips, then each cheek, and say, "Come in, sit down, let me cook for you . . . " . . . (And I haven't felt like cooking for anyone in a long time.) I might also grab a few Turkish singers from the other section too. In my kitchen, we'll eat and talk and laugh and MaMa Frankie will make all remember that we are merely lost brothers and sisters, still needing each other . . . ! [If I sound all confused about my "role" as a relative . . . it's because I am. First a "kissing cousin" then the "MaMa" ... Just let me be confused for now ! ]

Yes, Batel, my sympathies for your loss. I am so sorry;yet, like Paul, I am so happy to "see you"!! May your family gatherings bring a sense of unity and togetherness, despite that loss . . . Around the world tears are shed for lost loved ones . . . Sometimes one would think the earth would be inundated with tears . . .

    Rose Paul Frankie and Patt
It's 6:46 am over here...and a few words before coming back here to do some translations for you and respond to your messages.
Thanks a lot for your moral support. When you get to be my age you realize this is all we got in life. We take nothing with us to the other side but the memories of the people who shared our lives.
    Frankie...
I love your Virginia Wolf's stream of conciousness writing....keep hopping from one image to the next...it's a far more exciting and superior literary read than some syntactically organized sentences. Your description was like going over a photo album ...embrace it and let us enjoy it. Thank you for your kind words.
I'll translate Evyater Banay for you as soon as I can.
    Paul
Do you know the saying "If you want to make God laugh ...make plans".........well...I made him (or her) laugh several times this year.
Let me just tell you about the planned trip to Greece in October which has been delayed to December...
We're talking about a 48+ hours visit....2 planes each direction (direct flight is 1.40 hours this journey is going to take 6!!!)
I received more teaching hours and extended my private tutoring ...so ....I really don't know at this point.
I'm waiting for Rita's new disc to send all the discs to you ...that will hopefully mark the beginning of my journey to your area.
Please send Bogda my very best and warmes wishes.

    Rose
I'll be on it , De fevgo translation, as soon as possible.
    We should communicate on facebook.

Hi sweety...what's hot in the Vertis front?

I bid you all a glorious week ...and as we say in Hebrew ...RAK BESMACHOT ....(we'll meet ) only in happy times

Sweet, kind Batel, thank you so much for your words . . . You are a breath of fresh air . . .

Batel, we posted at the same time! This video is so adorable . . . and wonderful! It's obvious who is the mentor and who is the musical/vocal scholar . . . sometimes!! This little darling, though, can "take it" and he can "dish it out"!!! I loved the section where he's being instructed how to sing tenor and not not 'yell' tenor . . . (If I 'hear' correctly with my heart). Also, Little Bit's indications that it's time to kneel in passion!! . . . These are moments when I feel my attachment to the "tribes" and the lands and wanderings of my long-ago forefathers . . . and I wish I were not so far removed and lost myself, so that I could understand the words. But it doesn't matter . . . I feel it. I know it. And I know I have a "belonging" somewhere in those distant lands that will one day (if I may say, please) that in the Paradise will be proven to be true. Thank you for this fantastic video which has surpassed another of a similar sort that I held dear--BARIS AKARSU, Akademie Turkyie 2004, when Haluk Levent joined BARIS for his performance. ...Must run...(another dr's appt!) Love to all!!!

    Frankie ...for you

    Evyatar Banay - Until Tomorrow

    You mustn't think
    When you're so tired
    Take a walk at dawn

    Far from home
    The path back is erased
You walk on a thin line

    The nights are long
    Not knowing why
You run and no one is chasing you

    Until tomorrow
    Soon
A child is running to you
    Hugging you

    We'll surround the park
    To just stop thinking
Tired people are running in the streets
    We've been here before
    In a reversed role
Fast walk to tire the body

    Until tomorrow
    Soon
A child is running to you
    Hugging you

There's a hole (breach) in the fence.
Among the vines, the vineyard grapes
    Sabotaging foxes howl and disappear

This is a historical moment, indeed, that shall be noted in the ATL Annals!
"On November 14th, Bateli777, hit-her-to the most grecaholic Member of Our Society posted her first all-Turkish post ever!"

I'm happy to have lived to witness it, dear! Superb choice, btw!

I Had to literally SIT DOWN before clicking on the play button (just couldn't believe my eyes !!!).

This event calls for radical measures! And thus:

Acting as the President of the Polish Turcoholic Society I hereby have the honour of pronouncing you, Batel, the Honorary Member of our Society!
(this is accompanied by a massive applause on the part of all the Members of the Society)

Answering your question, there is of course a special Turkish songs' thread. Please pay a visit to the thread below:
    http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/tu...h-edition.html

And Batel, nothing makes me more happy than a friend liking the song I've dedicated to them!

It was so good reading again the top-form, classic Batel that once captured my heart! Thank you for your optimism and sense of humour!

I suppose I've been a comedian all my life , only I never knew I had such a High Profile Audience having fun at my acting!

    Keep posting, dear!

Bests and HUGZ to you and Both Almighty's grandsons!

It's a lot of fun...I have the weirdest hair dresser ...in between washing hair and blow drying curles he's drinking vodka and blows the roof off with his speakers ..this video was one of the better songs I heard over there. Trust me ...I made him write Ploutarxos name on a piece of paper...they all yield to his charm and honey like voice ...
Your Evyatar translation is on the next page enjoy it ...pay attention to the biblical reference ...his lyrics are also comprised of mental photos...very sweet.
I'm off to bed ...tired but content ...22 of my students have improved their grades...the trouble of composing a new test and checking 60 of them was well worth the effort.....
I am thanking all of you for "forcing" me to step out of daily routine and just ENJOY music ....
we'll talk some more over the weekend ....We have a visitor from Uzbakistan...my brother girl friend's mother...so this should be interesting
