Dear friends, please allow me to insert another song that I like very much... A very beautiful and dreaming song released in the far 1981 year, sung and produced by Mario Castelnuovo with the title "OCEANIA"... Here is the audio found on youtube...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URzPqbv68Po
It is a very difficult song to translate it because the text is very hermetic and poetic... But for me "Oceania" is one of the most beautiful Italian songs (even if it is not well known neither here in Italy) and I have tried to translate it the same into English... And here is the result... first the original lyrics in Italian and then the translation into English that I have tried to made... Hope you will like it !!!
Quanti diamanti avrà il tuo cielo
tu che lo sfiori coi capelli
tu che la notte al davanzale
sciogli le trecce ad una stella
Quanti diamanti avrà il tuo inverno
ombre di lupi alla finestra
aghi di pino alla tua porta
chiamami amore, se lo vuoi
Occhi di prato era il tuo cielo
uomo di pochi anni ancora
foglie di tè sopra il sentiero
taci e speranza, invecchierai
Occhi di prato era il tuo inverno
fuggiva intanto il disonore
storie di aerei e di coraggio
confini sordi alla realtà
Oceania, Oceania, Oceania...
Scrivimi ancora le tue rughe
cerco da sempre, tu lo sai
trova per me giorni e speranza
l'indifferenza che non ho
Cerca per me giorni e ragione
portami arance americane
storie di donne e di acquavite
edera e sangue, anche per me
Oceania, Oceania, Oceania...
Si alza la nebbia nel tuo cielo
l'inverno sputa i suoi malanni
vento via spazza la saggezza
baciami ancora, se lo vuoi
Vorrei le mani nei pensieri
vorrei poter sperare che
dove finisce il tuo dolore
nasca lì un ponte fra me e te
Quanti diamanti avrà il tuo inverno
ombre di lupi alla finestra
aghi di pino alla tua porta
chiamami amore, se lo vuoi
Occhi di prato era il tuo inverno
fuggiva intanto il disonore
storie di aerei e di coraggio
confini sordi alla realtà
Oceania, Oceania, Oceania...

How many diamonds will be in your sky,
you that slide it with your hair,
you that in the night by your windowsill
loose the braids at a star
How many diamonds will be in your winter,
Shadows of wolves by the window,
pine leaves near your door,
call me "my love" if you want...
Your sky was like eyes of grass,
a man of still few years of life,
tea leaves on your path
shut up and you will get older with your hope
Your winter was like eyes of grass
while the dishonour was running away
tales of airplanes and courage,
deaf limits to the reality...
Oceania, Oceania, Oceania...
Write me again about your wrinkles
You know that I'm always searching
Find for me days and hope
and the indifference that I don't have
Find for me days and reason
bring me American oranges
tales of women and aqua vitae
ivy and blood also for me...
Oceania, Oceania, Oceania...
The fog rises up in your sky
the winter spits away his misfortunes
the wind sweeps away the wisdom
kiss me again if you want...
I want my hands in my thoughts
I would like to hope that
Where your sorrow ends
Will born a bridge between me and you...
How many diamonds will be in your winter,
Shadows of wolves by the window,
pine leaves near your door,
call me "my love" if you want...
Your sky was like eyes of grass
while the dishonour was running away
tales of airplanes and courage,
deaf limits to the reality...
Oceania, Oceania, Oceania...
