I am not good at understanding the words in greek..but then the refrain goes...

It actually is. Just in the second stanza Parios doesn't sing it like "ke na zo makria ap' tin Kriti" but "makria apo to nisi mou"; i.e. not "to live far from Crete" but "far from my island".
